Andrea Christina Nechita is a trained professional in her field as an artist, and has a background as a museum & archives professional. She strives to meet the highest standards in quality and care for all works, both historical and modern.
With a passion for art and history, Nechita received a Bachelor of Arts Honors in Art History from McMaster University, a Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies from Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, and a Masters degree in Library and Information Studies specializing in Archiving from McGill University.
During her high school years, Andrea began to experiment with painting replicas of surrealist works from artists such as Henry Fuseli, Giorgio De Chirico, Salvador Dali, and Victor Brauner. In her undergraduate years, she began using more traditional mediums such as oil painting and acrylic on canvas, and taught herself various painting techniques while studying art and art history. In her graduate years, she began exploring Medieval influences on her style and created a series inspired by medieval manuscript illuminations and Medieval art and culture. Over years of experimentation Andrea learned to use a variety of techniques to create the effects she was looking for. Her expressionist abstract mixed media paintings are often created using between 5-15 layers of paint and liquid mediums. These secret personal techniques were developed and perfected over years to create completely unique effects. The result captures a sense of chaotic orderly motion. Some of these mixed media works take her months or even years to complete.
