Every painterly form I create is a story that arises as part of my lived experience, filtered through my fantasy and imagination. Thus, every form on my canvas carries a part of me. My work reflects the importance of being in the moment - feeling, experiencing and being aware of the “here and now”. At times, I move away from the richly saturated colours into a more pastel, toned down palette in order to achieve more subtle and refined combinations. I tend not to adhere to a strictly defined style - my work is always expressive, graphic, ornamental and well-balanced. Experience and love of my work allow me the freedom to experiment and create outside of any strict boundaries or style restraints. The dialogue between the artist and the viewer is created through the authenticity and meaning of every brushstroke, every shape and colour combination that I place on canvas.

My path as an artist can be traced back to my childhood and the influence of my mother, who was an artist in Riga. I obtained my artistic training at the Art Academy of Latvia where I participated in a number of large exhibitions and important international art events. During the course of my degree, I travelled to the Berlin University of the Arts on an exchange program. I completed my degree in 2008, acquiring a Masters of Fine Arts.

My move to Australia in 2014 marked a new beginning in my career as an artist. The extraordinary beauty of the unique Australian native flora and fauna was a new and overwhelming sensory experience. It inspired me to immerse myself into the study of the interplay of light with the fluid shapes of birds, flowers and the ornamental patterns they created. I use oil and acrylic paints to try and capture the joyous and unique richness of colour of the Australian nature. My paintings can be saturated with colour or capture the fleeting moments in more muted, pastel tones; they can be ornamental and decorative or authentically realistic.

Group exhibitions in galleries all over the world in countries including Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Belarus, Austria, Germany, Australia (since 2002)
(only part of the exhibitions is listed on my Tricera profile)
