Concept

I can describe myself as an artist with a sense of humor, working with the modernization of carnival performances and consumer culture in society. I love the combination of grotesque or fictional images that caricature depict modern society and its stereotypes. Inspired by current events, books, music, trends in street and elite culture, my work must be meaningful and meaningless at the same time, in order to be used as a channel for interpretation with the viewer. Favorite material - ceramics, because, in my opinion, this medium is timeless. It allows you to capture for a long time what is happening now in the modern world. My objects are reflections on the satiety of goods in our world, on modern preferences, which ironically depict ourselves. Ceramics allows this experience to be passed on to future generations and translates my respect for ancient materials.

Biography

Romanovich Victoria is an artist, originally from Podolsk. During her studies at school, she received her first academic art education and then continued her studies at the University of Hertfordshire. The artist studied two disciplines: Fashion Design and Fine Arts. It did not work out with fashion, therefore, she turned her attention only to Fine Arts. Graduated and received her Bachelor of Arts in 2019, has been exhibiting and participating in artist competitions from 2014 to the present. Works mainly with ceramics, painting, painting.
