Through analogical collage, I reframe images that fit the central theme of my work, which is the overcoming of my pains and losses (emotional and social) and their transformation into forces that drive me. Old images are the basis for new connections that enable the creation of a new reality. This enables me to create a new path, where each image, when connecting with another, registers a stage of life lived. This trace happens every time I need to experience a new reality or feeling. Pains and losses are inherent in all human beings. When I experience them in my work, I create paths through the chosen images. Because the images have a universal language, their meanings overlap the written and spoken words, creating a universe where the spectator becomes part of the work. The world is a great collage of emotions, people, landscapes and feelings, where love is a universal language. to be updated

Biography

to bPatricia Figueiredo is a visual artist, whose main research theme is the emptiness created by the losses and pain inherent to human beings. Through analogical collage, where physical contact with figures and scissors are present, she creates a connection with the images used in his works. Having Dadaism as a reference and base, where freedom of composition has always been present, she manipulates the chosen elements, through the infinite possibilities they present in the constructions and interpretations of new realities. The artist has exhibited her work since 2015 in several galleries around the world, such as NY, Milan, Venice, France, Spain, Berlin, Sweden, Finland and Brazil (mabe gallery SP, republic museum RJ, post office cultural center RJ, music city RJ, paço imperial RJ, and space zaguti RJ. Last year his work on the Dadaismo won second place in the competition held by the Brazilian Collage Society.
This current year, 2021, she was selected for several virtual exhibitions in London, participated in the telephone gallery, had her pink and blue collage selected for Every Woman Biennial exhibited at Copeland Gallery in London and virtually at Superchief gallery NY with her first work in NFT.
Selected for a political residence at Kolaj institute November 2021
Selected for 03 months residency in Bulgaria, Sofia in 2020.
In 2019, her work transbordar was selected for Veniceland artprizes in Venice.
In 2019, she created a collage workshop where several courses were given.
Her trajectory of artistic learning, passed through Parque Laje-RJ on several occasions, Panamericana School - SP, “School without a place” in Paço Imperial-RJ, and she is currently part of a study group through the curators of Rio de Janeiro Isabel Portella and Jozias Benedicto.
In 2018, she was responsible for the weekly art column on the portal do villarino, a Rio site for leisure and culture.
