Sandro Di Camillo (b.1976) is an Italian photographer attentive to the experiments and expressive possibilities of photographic language not as a merely descriptive medium, but as a creative tool.
EXPERIENCE
He has participated in various exhibitions and his photographic works have been recognized in various awards.
Ex-equo winner of the 2006 Fotoesordio international award, his work is exhibited in the Pietro Gismondi Hall of the University of Tor Vergata and at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome
Also in 2006 he won a competition announcement launched by the Goethe-Institut of Rome and represents Italy in Europe, within the Ulysses project, with the multimedia work Heimat.
In 2007 and 2008 he participated in Photography - International Festival of Rome with two group exhibitions La città continua (of which he is also the curator) and the window of
Front.
He is a finalist in the photography section at the Celeste International Award in 2008, his work (Berlin Babylon) is exhibited in the exhibition space of the Fabbrica Borroni, Bollate Milano.
In 2009 he was a finalist for the Terna Prize, with the photographic work 'STRUCTURE'.
Also in 2009 he was a finalist for the international G.Tabò award, his work 'Berlin Babylon' was exhibited at the Istituto Superiore Antincendi (I.S.A.) in Rome.
In 2014 he was the winner of the photo contest organized by "Il Mitte".
Also in 2014 he was the winner of the international Off Site Art competition: a public art project dedicated to L'Aquila.
In 2018 he won the URBANPHOTO international photo contest in the portfolio section with the VIA RUPTA project.
Also in 2018 he was the winner, in the conceptual photo section of the 35Awards international competition.
Since 2008 he has been busy with very personal projects and editorial commissions.
ISTRUZIONE
Studia presso l'Accademia Di Belle Arti di Roma (1999-2004).
Dal 2004 al 2007 frequenta il Master triennale al'Istituto Superiore di Fotografia e Comunicazione Integrata di Roma.
Dal 2007 al 2010 studia la fotografia contemporanea a Berlino.
