Concept

I mainly use living things as motifs, and my subject of expression is to approach their intrinsic energy and fluctuation with the outside world, or the flow of time and matter that continues while repeating generation and disappearance. In exploring these themes, I focus on the brush strokes as a way to open up my senses, and use a method of layering them. This is influenced by Oriental ink painting, the impressionist division of brushstrokes, and the multi-layered painting methods of ukiyoe. For this reason, I use both water-soluble paints and oil paints in my work, and construct the picture plane with various brush strokes while utilizing the characteristics of each. The fusion of different elements can also be seen in the formative elements. For example, by integrating opposites such as figurative and abstract, modern and ancient, Eastern and Western, and yin and yang, he intends to present his work as a new form of expression in the modern age while drawing on the history and culture of the past.
