Concept

I like to paint Ukrainian landscapes. I work plein air in the picturesque corners of the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions. I love Ukrainian and Russian paintings of the Soviet period (Tatyana Yablonska, Boris Rapoport, Fedor Zakharov, Arkady Plastov). I am very interested in the painting of impressionists and post-impressionists. I am inspired by the works of Camille Pissarro, Claude Monet, Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Alexander Murashko, Konstantin Korovin. In my paintings I combine a classical school, coming from Russian Wanderers, with the techniques of the Impressionists. I strive for harmony of color and a fresh, lively, bold manner of painting.
