Concept

Her watercolor paintings are on paper and she usually starts out by pre-wetting. Her paintings can be defined as simple, intimate and away from beautification. They are neither strictly designed nor totally random. She express herself applying fine art techniques without disregarding surprises water brings naturally. Painting is a mysterious journey for her and it is a ways to lure the viewer into the water's magic. Colors dance with each other on all her works. She primarily focuses on flowers, sailing yachts and landscapes which often include distinctive or non-distinctive figures.

Biography

Zeynep Işık Kural was born in Niğde in Turkey, in 1965. She has studied Public Administration and Political Sciences at METU in Ankara. Her passion in painting has started back on her childhood days and she has met with watercolor painting at Orhan Güler’s atelier in 2014.
Since then, she has worked with various painters and attended several workshops and courses. Currently she is studying with Mr. Sait Günel.
Zeynep Işık Kural has attended several exhibitions domestic and international. Her very first solo exhibition has taken place in Istanbul Balat Culture House in 2017. Just before the Covid-19 pandemic measures put in place she has had her last solo exhibition in Ankusev in Ankara in March 2020.
