Valendo, levando (worth, taking) A recurring theme in my research on artistic productions is my objects. Or the impact these personal items have on me and how they can define me. They definitely influence me. Little by little these objects can shape the way I act. Sometimes relationships are years of coexistence and choice. In the same way I leave my mark on objects, it's a very personal relationship. The pot that made the same rice over and over again, the coffee strainer used daily several times a day, the favorite pen that has documented several important issues and so on. And even though these objects are mass-produced and do not contain any specific features that specify it from other objects like it, when in my hands, they start to become unique. Mine, unique, with marks that only I could have made. And they define me as an individual who uses those objects. In a two-way hand. That's why my fascination with portraying these objects, not objects as a class, but as mine and how they can provide a trail that shows who I am. In a way a self-portrait.

Biography

Thomaz is from São Paulo, in 2002 he began his painting course with Alfonso Ballestero, a language he used in his production. He participated in the Abraço colectivo exhibitions, of the Almost Aqui series - Ateliê 397 gallery, Creatures do Ego - 46th Salon of Contemporary Art Luiz Sacilotto, Verticalização - exhibition program 2016 MARP, Intuition with broom - Simultaneous Individual program MARP.
In 2012, he was diagnosed with Panic Syndrome, and evidences this process in his work, thinking of the outside world from the perspective of diagnosis. Using dry pastel on paper, it portrays people who are on the fringes of society, a reflection of the delicate social and political situation in Brazil and the ephemeral nature of contemporary human relations. He works a lot, multiplying points of view about some fact that affects him.
