When creating my works I have always had a tendency to pull from the colors around me. Living in the Bahamas has definitely allowed me to use more bold and rich colors... But more so having a love for feeling good and wanting others to experience that too is why I have turned to the elements of healing from crystals and the powerful properties they provide and can give to a space.

Ashley Baker-Comarcho (b. Victoria British Colombia, Canada) has been living in Grand Bahama in The Bahamas for the past 15 years. Comarcho is a self-taught Artist who is interested in the fluidity of acrylic pouring, and resin art a type of abstract style that focuses on the interplay of form and color through movement and gravity. Her medium mainly consists of acrylic paint, resin and pigment powders, along with other miscellaneous material such as glitter and clay, and crystals.

Comarcho pulls inspiration from local landscapes, emotions and music, and the way in which they translate through the language of painting.

Her artwork has been featured in exhibitions throughout the Bahamas, as well as in the United States, and has recently been acquired by the Kinsey Collection.
