Giancarlo Puppo is attracted by what can be imagined and is intangible. His art is intricately connected to architecture. Dr. Caleb Yves Bach has said about Puppo that: “his art and architecture speak with one voice. Probably his wide use of many materials is associated with both professions, even though they are not connected or dependent.” Through the years, Puppo has adapted his vision to his life experiences, with a keen focus of expression. In a way, he works independent of the current trends of the art world, so as not to be portrayed as abstract, figurative or photographic. His inspiration comes from his native land, as well as from native cultures in the Americas. Biography

Giancarlo Puppo was born in Rome, Italy in 1938. Throughout his career as an architect, he has been actively involved in the visual arts. He has created drawings, mixed media paintings, and sculptures in wood and fired clay.

In 1961 he traveled back to Europe, which would later determine his language and his interests in different fields of art. Since 1999 he begun publishing short stories and novels accompanied by paintings, and continues to carry out these combined projects.
