As an art enthusiast when I first watched the work of great M.F. Hussain it just stimulated me to paint and bring out my expressions. His incredible talent, technique and style of depicting characters prevails as my main inspiration. I sense art as complete freedom to express my thoughts and imagination. I feel so immensely pleased and motivated in broadening myself in doing simply something totally unusual. I get ideas when my eyes are closed. Shades of vibrant colorful swirls, curls and twists go through in my subconscious state of mind. I memorize those and use that to paint characters, structures and figures that turn out bizarre but recognizable. This was experimental initially but has eventually became the way I practice doing my paintings. When I look back, though being self-taught I see my technique has evolved gradually and I have been able to improvise on it using variety of medium like acrylics, oils, clays, charcoal and even gels recently. Participating in several exhibitions across US & Canada boosted confidence as well as made me evaluate & critic my work. My intention is to continue relentlessly to develop my skills, experiment new techniques, improving on them until the time my work would get noticed by art lovers, enthusiasts and collectors who would say that one is Kartik’s creation. to be updated to be updated
