Concept

There is so much inspiration that can be taken from the imaginings and daydreams of our childhood. I am fortunate enough to have grown up surrounded by the beautiful works of the likes of Hans Christian Andersen, Brothers Grimm, Lewis Caroll, Kay Nielsen, Edmund Dulac among other classic authors and illustrators. These stories, illustrations and daydreams have stayed with me through the years and it is with pleasure that I translate my own imagined pictures on paper that I may share them to the world in hopes of reminding the viewer of their childhood innocence and wonder.

Biography

Christine Arce is a Filipino artist, residing in Cambodia.

She started drawing at an early age, taking after-school classes in illustration, creative writing and even performing arts.

She started learning watercolor in 2017 and participated in local art galleries later.

Christine’s work contains themes that explore the imaginative and mysterious realms and dwellers of childhood stories, both familiar and forgotten. Her work also touches on the mysterious intrigue of the feminine influence over nature as well as the human-animal bond.

Her work was featured in the following galleries:
