In painting, since my first works the color assumes a predominant role.
The exploration of strong contrasts is constant, at first in a figurative theme with fluid shapes, which reflects a whole experience of freehand drawing, only after graduating, already working professionally as an architect, the computer became part of the work routine, after more than twenty years working as an architect, the CAD influences so much my pictorial work that results in an abstract and geometric production.
In 2014 I move to Balneário de Carapebus, neighborhood on the outskirts of Grande Vitória, living closer to nature and where interpersonal contact with neighbors and other residents is warmer, causing a new change in my works, this time I make a fusion between the two previous phases, as I return to the figuration, but the forms remain geometric.
My subjects are everything I see and that moves me in some way, my works are my way of expressing what I have seen, lived, imagined or dreamed. What I choose to paint always goes through affection, whether objects, places and especially people, their emotions, their relationships, their moments.
I explore the formal and chromatic game in my compositions.
My works show influences of several great modern artists, for example the coloring similar to that of Paul Gauguim is a striking feature, there is also something of Gustav Klimt in the delicacy of the treatment given to the features of the figures portrayed, in contrast to the background color always vibrant and with vigorous brushstrokes, and finally the geometry that reminds us of the cubism of Pablo Picasso, although one should not speak of his direct influence, because it is more certain to credit this characteristic to the long years of work as an architect.
