Sergej Ovcharuk (Sulima) is a dreamer and a romantic, with the soul of a sailor and the delicate hands of an artist. Sergej’s paintings offer a fresh view on the classic style, and immerse us in the mysteriously spiritual world of impressionism. The amazing combination of the old master’s painting traditions with expressive colors awakens imagination and leads to deep philosophical thinking.
1963.06.28 - born in Lviv city, Ukraine.
1975-1979 - He graduated from the Khmelnitsky Youth School of Arts, Ukraine.
1982-1986- He graduated the painting studio of outstanding master-colorist, museum recognized artist Vladimir Borodin (alumni of famous V.Mukhina High College of Art and Design,), S-Petersburg, Russia.
The study in V.Borodin’s studio was made the basis for further Ovcharuk’s development as a professional artist-painter.
Since 2013- permanent resident of the UK, London based, EU nationality, full time professional artist( self -employed).
ARTIST’S ASSOCIATIONS AND AWARDS
Since 2009 - member of Zhemaitija’s Artist’s Association (ZAA), Lithuania;
Since 2014 - member of Wimbledon Open Art Studios, studio No148, London, GB;
2014-2015 - artworks were featured by Saatchi Art in their “ Inspired by impressionism” permanent art collections”;
Since 2018 - Chevalier rank’s member of Mondial Art Academy, France;
Since 2019 – museum artist, 3 original artworks are bought and held at the permanent collection of Khmelnitskyi regional Art Museum (XOXM) in Ukraine.( top 5 rating of the best art museums in Ukraine).
His paintings are held in the private collections in the USA, UK, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Qatar, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia as well as in museum collection in Ukraine.
