Concept

All children paint and draw. Sadly, most stop. I never did. I have to paint, it is a passion. I paint usually in oils, but also acrylic and soft pastel. My subjects include seascapes, the 4 seasons in landscape, Venice, still life, abstract, moonscapes, all usually in thick oils, and my alter ego style based on Japanese ukiyo-e, in acrylic. 'Painting is about making marks, but which marks' 'A painting should be less about how something looks but rather how it feels' 'Let the brushstrokes land where they land' [Van Gogh] I hope you enjoy and maybe buy my work!

Biography

I was born and brought up in a small fishing town in Scotland called Anstruther, but now live in England.
Now retired, I paint 100 or more paintings a year.
My passions also include Astronomy [photographing the night sky], cricket, playing guitar [though I am deaf], and of course my beloved family...
