Melonpath is a Japanese entertainment artist. His works often contain multilayered themes, and his intention is to overcome anxiety and absurdity by interpreting the world in a more enjoyable way through artworks that incorporate elements of comics and games about contemporary society, which has become increasingly difficult to live with due to various problems. He focuses on the game-like nature of art, such as chess and cards, and emphasizes the communication that occurs through the experience of art. In 2017, he participated in an artist residency at Guru Guru House Takayanagi in Niigata, Japan. Through contact with the landscape, he began to create artwork with an awareness of the connection between traditional Japanese culture and the present day. Recently, many of his works include the influence of Shinto culture on contemporary Japan as a theme.
