Jeff Gould was born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, and spent summers in the Berkshires in Massachusetts. Because of this he felt an early inspiration from his childhood idol Norman Rockwell. He was recognized for his talent at an early age and began taking life-drawing classes at the Art Students League in New York when he was 11. His interest in art never waned and he received his Bachelor’s Degree in 1987 from the University of the Arts.
After working as an Art Director for large corporations, he took a hiatus to help raise his three boys with his wife Karen. He continued to work freelance painting portraits and commissions, but always wanted to focus on the dream of having his work in a gallery and being a working fine artist.
Upon Moving to Mendham in a home surrounded by the Schiff Nature Preserve he was inspired by the natural beauty and began painting landscapes.
Since 2015 he has been painting exclusively in oils and acrylics. HE just finished a residency at the Alhamra Gallery in Bernardsville and current show at Art festivals and his Studio in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and recently won Awards at the Center for Contemporary Art and the New Jersey Artists Association.
