Concept

Damian Calandra is a nomad artist who has been traveling for 20 years in LatinAmerica, enriching himself with its culture. In his paintings you can see the influence of the native communities visited, the sacred animals and the experiences with the power plants. Nature as the maximum source of inspiration. Art as the expression of the soul. Currently his acrylic painting technique mixes magical realism with tropical surrealism, since he is currently living in a jungle area in the Caribbean of Costa Rica.

Biography

Damian Calandra was born on July 4, 1981 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
He is a professional tattoo artist with 18 years of experience and has won awards at several International Tattoo Conventions.
He studied painting at the University of Fine Arts, and also took private courses with art teachers. He worked in a wide variety of techniques and styles, and did illustrations and cartoon drawings for a large number of books. He painted murals in Argentina and in several Central American countries.
