Concept

I’m a Contemporary and expressionist artist, painting on a canvas and working on Lino cut prints is an art that I especially enjoy doing. I’m currently working in a series of abstract paintings that express a lot of feelings through a palette full of colors. When I mix them, they create a lot of interesting textures and set different types of peaceful moods. Sometimes I have more explosive moments in my paintings. I’ll paint layer on top of layer and utilize scraping or slashing movements that give it a different dynamic. Mi series of abstract paintings are inspired in my life, each layer is full of colors and feelings I go throughout the day, I can expend days before I finish my piece. Life is full of experiences and up and downs but at the end of the day I reflect that life is beautiful when you see the all-imagen finish, yes it is full of different colors because of our experiences but the bright colors exceed and overcome the difficult moments in life. I like to paint a variety of themes, I’m very spontaneous and creative in that way. One of my goals is to inspire people to express their feelings and stories of their life trough Art, put my works out in more shows, and continue creating and painting wonderful art and enjoy every moment of it.

I’m a Contemporary and expressionist artist, painting on a canvas and working on Lino cut prints is an art that I especially enjoy doing.
I’m currently working in a series of abstract paintings that express a lot of feelings through a palette full of colors. When I mix them, they create a lot of interesting textures and set different types of peaceful moods.
Sometimes I have more explosive moments in my paintings. I’ll paint layer on top of layer and utilize scraping or slashing movements that give it a different dynamic.

My name is Maria Magdalena Plagge. I was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, México.
I finished high school having studied three years of arts and humanities. This gave me a good foundation in art and drove my passion for it even more. I was able to participate in several exhibitions in Mexico during those years.
When I was 24, I got married and moved to the USA. We lived in different states like Missouri, Arkansas, New York and Texas. God blessed me with two wonderful daughters and an awesome husband that supports me in my passion for painting. As my girls were born, I decided to dedicate myself primarily to raising them and focusing on our home. During that time, I continued creating crafts and did a little bit of painting as time allowed.

It wasn’t until the summer of 2018 when we moved to Frisco, Texas that I began to paint again as a professional artist. I also joined the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco (VAGF), Frisco Arts association, and Visual Arts Society of Texas (VAST) which has given me the opportunity to display my art in different galleries around Frisco and Denton TX, Coppell TX, and places like City Hall of Frisco and The Discovery Center.
At the beginning of 202I, I received an invitation to be represented in Italy and be part of an artist movement called Pentastrattismo, in which my works will be exhibited in various exhibitions in Italy. I’m also participating in the Picenum Auction House and Art Gallery in Cingoli, Italy this year.

My goal is to display my work in more shows and galleries, and continue be updated
