I currently have a studio, "Dokuraku Fossa," on the other side of Kansai Airport in Japan, where I express my own unique world in figurative and abstract forms in paintings and prints based on images from the words of novels and essays from Japan and abroad.
His technique is like that of a collagraph, where he makes an uneven surface on wood or paper and uses it as a plate, but instead of applying ink to the plate and pressing it, he places the paper on top of the plate and applies ink on top of it. I also use woodblocks, copper plates, and digitally generated polymer plates.
I have been self-taught and began my creative career in 1980.
Early on, I turned to surrealism and learned how to express what was true to my inner self.
In doing so, I studied a wide range of techniques using not only oil paints, but also acrylics, watercolors, and pastels.
From 2015 to the present, I have been researching printmaking and pursuing my own unique expression, and have exhibited my work both in Japan and abroad.
In any case, what is consistent is that I am conscious of being Japanese, thinking about what I am, and expressing myself on the plane.
