Ute Meyer lives at the Baltic coast and spent her childhood at the North sea. The coasts and her garden are her favorite places to paint. She prefers to paint pleinair, but works in the wintertime in her studio. Over the years she has developed a way to paint large canvases outdoors finishing them in one single work process capturing the mood of the day. She enjoys the changing weather and light conditions. They influence the painting process unpredictably adding to the dynamic and expressivity of the painting. She works in oil on canvas or wood and watercolor on paper.
The artist has her studio in Flensburg. 1987 she completed her 2nd state examination in art at the Educational College Flensburg. Since 2007 until today Ute Meyer participates in national and international exhibitions. Her painitings are collected internationally.
