I am MiMi, a South Korean artist based in Seoul. My journey through life has been a diverse and colorful one, shaped by a range of experiences and a passion for creativity that knows no bounds.

I studied fashion design at Keimyung University and grew up as a professional fashion designer in ESMOD SEOUL
These formative years not only cultivated my design sensibilities but also instilled in me an appreciation for the power of visual storytelling.

After working as a fashion designer, a fashion graphic designer, a K-POP visual director, and a lyricist, I worked with people from various countries and fields at the intersection of music, fashion, and visual art.
This fusion of creative realms ignited a new passion within me.

My art draws its inspiration from the intricate layers of human nature and the concealed desires that reside within us all. Working in diverse creative roles, from fashion to K-POP, I've been deeply influenced by design elements, mass media, movies, music, music videos, and fashion. These diverse inspirations have woven themselves into the tapestry of my artistic style.

Central to my art is the character "Mimidolly," a persona with an unwavering poker face, adorned with vibrant colors and thought-provoking text. This poker face symbolizes the modern human experience, one that often conceals our deepest instincts and desires. My intention is to encourage you, the viewer, to imagine the emotions, desires, and stories that lie beneath this façade. My art, I believe, finds its completion when you, the audience, explore your own hidden emotions and embark on a journey to unlock the stories of concealed desires.


[Painting with Music]
Music is also a medium that expresses myself. I've always been driven to create, express, and share my imagination and worldview. As part of that, I released an album named "Mimidolly," here the persona in my painting plays the role of speaker and vocalist. The album, produced by DJ Fridayyy, harmoniously combines my art world with the music world.


[K POP-ART]
My works can generally be defined as NEO-POP ART even within the genre of POP-ART.

However, I want to define it as "K POP-ART" that combines K-POP and NEO-POP ART because I was inspired by the colorful, rhythmic, and pop-artistic elements of K-POP culture, and I express that K-POP culture in my works in my own style. I want to share the K-POP Culture, which many people are enthusiastic about, with people all over the world through my own genre called "K POP-ART."
