Concept

My passion for art began when I discovered contemporary artists from the 19th & 20th century I started painting to express alternative views on modern society. My artistic objective is to deconstruct traditional concepts & ideas and reflect them under unusual scenarios. I love using vast arrays of colors in my paintings. It helps me offer my own version of the world. Vnie is no less than the third derivative of my name, coming all the way from the Chinese Mandarin 妮, followed by the western version “Winnie” and finally the artistic choice of Vnie. These cultural overlaps & different origins have shaped my tastes and approach of life, which I hope will be nicely conveyed through my work.
