Keita Onozaki’s dynamic artistic style is based on the Japanese traditional calligraphy technique. He believes that academism forms the basis of calligraphy, the concept of beauty, and the core of the human spirit. By learning these rules and traditions and using them in his art, he believes he can create true modern works of art. His main calligraphy work are large art pieces that are four to seven meters in width. The size of the canvas and characters are unlike most Japanese calligraphy. You can see the energy and power put into his work, and the various lines created by the changing speed of the brush. He works to balance his art between the academic, traditional art style and an avant-garde modern style.
