Hideaki Fujimoto

It is a series of phenomenal paintings created from a free approach. It has been Fujimoto's lifework since 2015.

This is a series of paintings based on the motifs of classical Asian and Japanese patterns through Fujimoto's common technique of "layering and grinding acrylic paints". The series has been running since 2003 as a series of irregular works. In the beginning, he often created his works based on sampled designs of classical patterns, but in recent years, he has been trying to create original designs of patterns.

This is a series of landscape paintings composed of colored surfaces and stake-like motifs. In 2001, he began an irregular series of paintings as the "Piles on the Water" series, and in 2011, he changed the title to "Piles" and began to develop this series. The coloring and matiere are the same as in his other works.

Since around 2005, I have also been creating works that introduce the structure of the landscape, such as horizons and forested trees, etc. Until around 2015, when I started the Layers of Color series, I painted various scenes in terms of motifs and compositions.

A man and a woman, a brother and sister, a being without a body. This series depicts scenes where various kinds of "two" exist. While using the structure of a figurative landscape painting, the artist has increased the level of abstraction without sticking to specific colors.

Eternal Trio" is the title of a series of landscape works in which "three beings" are scattered about. The "trio" in the paintings is a metaphor, so they are not necessarily human beings. Sometimes they are stakes in the ground, playground equipment in a park, or inorganic structures.

The "Reunion Series" is a series of works developed around 2002, when the artist began to introduce figurative motifs. In this style, figurative motifs such as people, cows, and propellers appear like fragmented, noisy images in orange or dark green spaces. Within these motifs are nested line drawings, expressing intertwined and sedimented memories.

Although not part of a series, these works are important in my production history. The works will include organic abstractions from the very beginning of my career, the beginning of the introduction of figurative silhouettes, and the development of my work in later stages of my career.

This is a series of works using flowers and plants as motifs. I express standard motifs through my own matiere of layering. The title "Chirudai" is a coined word from Okinawan dialect. Later, the title "Dolce" was added, and I use it differently depending on the mood of the painting. New works in the Dolce series will be added later.
