Benrin is known for his work depicting horses in "yuzen dyeing. This method was originally used to dye kimonos in the Edo period and is considered a traditional Japanese art form. The vivid colors and fantastic atmosphere are created on delicate silk fabrics. Ms. Benrin has been fascinated with horses since she was a child. By using bold compositions to depict simple horse figures, she creates unique works that evoke a healing energy in the viewer.
