Artist Statement
Ruten / "Ryuten" ___Constantly changing
Ryuten" is a Buddhist term that refers to the cycle of birth, death, and cause and effect, and means that one does not remain in one state, but is constantly changing.
As this word suggests, this solo exhibition is intended to challenge Tylakulka as an artist who is not afraid of change, but is constantly renewing himself.
In addition to the dog motifs that he has been painting since the beginning of his career, the works in this exhibition explore the possibilities of diverse expressions in his art through new motifs.
The main visual work "Fire" is inspired by a Buddhist painting titled "Shashin Shikozu," which is based on the idea that the reincarnation of conscience is a necessary part of the world.
Surrounded by the recession, negative news on social networking sites, and various other things, the artist hopes to convey through his work, "What exactly is self-sacrifice? The work is filled with these questions.
We hope you will come and see the daily evolution of what he draws and the new challenge of Tylakulka, a young artist who continues to express various landscapes seen from his own point of view, which is truly a metamorphosis.
