9s Gallery is pleased to present "27," a solo exhibition by Kamakiriko from Friday, 1/12/2024 to Saturday, 1/20/2024.
Kamakiriko is an artist who aims to "reconstruct beauty painting ". Kamakiriko is a rapidly growing artist who has attracted much attention at overseas art fairs in Busan, Taipei, and Dubai, and all of Kamakiriko's works sold out at Kamakiriko's solo and group exhibitions held at 9s Gallery in 2023.
In this exhibition, Kamakiriko will present a series of new works based on the theme of 27-year-old women who are living the process of approaching "adulthood" - the process of acquiring core strength.

Kamakiriko
A contemporary artist who challenges to "reconstruct the beauty painting. Kamakiriko depicts human vitality through women.
Kamakiriko began her career as an artist in 2021. In August 2023, she participated in a group exhibition at GINZA SIX Artglorieux Gallery, a gallery owned by Daimaru-Matsuzakaya, together with Yayoi Kusama and others, and has been highly anticipated in the contemporary art world.
In addition, seven works were exhibited at Kamakiriko's solo exhibition "Do girls dream of Electric City?" at TRiCERA in the same month, and two works were sold out at the "Christmas Miracle" exhibition held in December.

They say geniuses die at 27. Tomorrow, I will be 28. It is my birthday, the day I will be reborn from a potential army of geniuses to an ordinary person.
In this exhibition, Kamakiriko depicts 27-year-old women who, with such thoughts in their minds, are in the process of approaching “adulthood” - the process of acquiring a core of strength. Like all human beings, they are not perfect at the beginning. But throughout their paths in life, 24/7, they are determined to form their core, while admitting their weaknesses from time to time.
With dignified expressions, these women figures look straight at us. Their gazes make us into the viewers, reconsider our values, which we have almost forgotten in the pursuit of our daily lives.
