Aiming to depict the "existence of life," ayaka nakamura draws works in which various colors and lines overlap each other.
Her works, composed of many elements interacting with each other, will remind viewers of the diversity of life in the world and how we, as tiny beings, are also a part of it. We invite you to view "Like a star" and "Calling Wind," both of which were created especially for this exhibition, and other works scattered like stars.
Concept
ayaka nakamura is an artist who visualizes the relationship between various forms of life and the existence of life itself from the scenery we see without thinking about it.
Layers and layers of lines and colors influence each other to create a single image.
The coincidence of these layers makes us aware that every moment of our lives is a once-in-a-lifetime miracle woven by many lives, including our own.
For this solo exhibition, Nakamura created "Like a star," a work inspired by the Christmas star.
The gold sparkles scattered in the deep blue color, although each one is small, come together to form a beautiful starry sky.
The works, scattered like stars as a mark to look back on oneself and to step forward to the next year, will make you feel the hymn to life that underlies all of nakamura's works.
Artist Profile
ayaka nakamura
Graduated from Musashino Art University in 2013 with a major in printmaking.
She has been active both in Japan and abroad, and has recently participated in residencies in the U.S., Denmark, and China.
With the theme of "the existence of life," she creates delicate yet powerful images, including paintings and videos.
His works have been featured in numerous TV programs and magazines, and have been exhibited in the lounge of a luxury apartment building.
Major solo exhibitions include Bunkamura Box Gallery (Tokyo) and MU GALLERY (Tokyo),
He has participated in group exhibitions at EPICENTRO ART (Berlin), White Box (NY), WAH Center (NY), Anthology Film Archives (NY), ART FORMOSA (Taipei), and OLA Galleri & Ateljé (Sweden). The competition is a large-scale art contest for discovering new artists.
