Fusion of traditional techniques and modern sensibilities
Nakajima's depiction techniques show a fusion of the traditions of Western painting and modern Japanese sensibilities.
In addition to the realistic expression of Scandinavian Flemish painting, which was practiced where the medium of oil painting was born, there are also influences such as the bold shadows of Caravaggio, a central figure in 18th century Baroque paintings.
The motifs and themes depicted are familiar to those of us living in Japan today. The realistic depiction of these motifs and themes are familiar to us living in Japan today, but they emerge as paintings with an overwhelming sense of presence.

Cats and nature coexist! Hiroki Takeda, a watercolorist who breathes life into pets
Cat Stretching (canvas print ver.)
W 29.70cm x H 21.00cm / 35,000 yen
Hiroki Takeda is a watercolorist who paints colorful works combining animals and plants.
He has attracted attention for his overwhelming skill and concept that recalls ancient Japanese Aminism.
He fuses various elements, both organic and inorganic, into his paintings as if they were a single living organism.
Plants that seem to blow and scatter in the wind. The body of an animal born from plants, trees, flowers, and natural objects. A world that blends together without boundaries. And even the blank space where no paintbrush has entered will touch the viewer's unconscious aesthetic heartstrings.
We will see imagination and life force spinning inside the canvas, and we will witness exactly how "life is breathed into a painting".
