GAKU IGARASHI
Artist GAKU IGARASHI spent his childhood in Sydney, Australia until 2010. After graduating from a local high school, he obtained a childcare license and began working as a childcare worker while at the same time exhibiting his paintings at charity events and flea markets. After returning to Japan, she began her full-fledged artist activities in 2015. Currently, she continues to work energetically, holding solo exhibitions in dozens of locations throughout the year.
This exhibition is an exhibition where each and every one of us can become part of a dream world while enjoying the colorful works created by the artist. Live painting on Saturday, October 15, from 14:00is open to everyone, children and parents alike. During the exhibition, the artists will also present visitors with a business-card-sized drawing drawn by the artist on the spot.
Artist Statement
I draw pictures while keeping four words in mind: LOVE, SMILE, and HAPPINESS.LOVE, SMILE,KINDNESS, andHAPPINESS.
And I paint with these four thoughts in mind.Ihave always had the same feelings for my paintings as when I was a child .
I think my feelings towards painting have remained the same as when I was a child.
Never forget kidzlike.
I always feel happy if my pictures make people smile, feel happy, and feel warm.
Rather than a washed-up, cool and stylish exhibition, it is an exhibition that makes you smile in some warm and heartwarming way."
GAKU IGARSHI continues to present works centered on its original character "ELF," a dwarf, and the "HAPPY PEOPLE" series, which depicts humans. His paintings with heartwarming, gentle, and vivid colors are popular not only with children but also with adults. He has held solo exhibitions at famous department stores throughout Japan.
