There is no denying that the word "ceramics" has an old-fashioned sound to it.

　If you are Japanese, you will inevitably be reminded of the ancient Japanese culture of flower arrangement and tea ceremony, and even if you are from another country, you will be sure to associate it with some traditional culture. This is because pottery is the most ancient technology of mankind, and if it is primitive, it can be completed with only clay and fire.

　However, contemporary ceramic artists, like other media, are constantly trying to update their work. In Japan, the works of artists such as Katsuyo Aoki, Takuro Kuwata, and Keigo Kamide are not only high quality, but also pleasing to the eye.

　In Japan, there is a wide variety of clay and firing methods, and all kinds of ceramic art forms exist, but there are also a large number of fans of ceramic art, so the market for ceramic art is almost equal to that for contemporary art. In this article, I would like to introduce three artists from Japan who are breathing new life into the world of ceramics.
