Concetto

Namu Choi, originaria della Corea del Sud e residente in Giappone, è arrivata in Giappone nel 2007 e si trova a Okinawa da circa quattro anni. Okinawa ha una storia di guerra nel Pacifico e molte vite sono andate perdute. L'energia della morte ha sempre coesistito con una forte energia vitale, che aveva un proprio potere di guarigione. Queste due energie naturali coesistenti sono diventate un motivo importante nel suo lavoro. In seguito, quando si trasferì a vivere nella grande città di Tokyo, il concetto del suo lavoro cambiò. Ha iniziato a esprimere le proprie emozioni più che la natura. Dalla prospettiva di un'immigrata isolata e ansiosa, madre di due bambini, decide di concentrarsi per un po' sul tema della "casa". Case fluttuanti e fluide mettono radici e crescono rami, ma vengono abbandonate in uno spazio isolato e vuoto. Internet e i social media arricchiscono le conversazioni tra le persone, ma allo stesso tempo creano grandi divisioni tra loro. Attraverso il suo lavoro, l'autrice ha continuato a cercare risposte su dove si trovino i valori più importanti e fondamentali di questo mondo. Durante la pandemia globale causata dalla nuova Corona, i sentimenti di "isolamento e insicurezza" che aveva ritratto non erano più speciali e venivano percepiti da molte persone, il che ha portato a un cambiamento nella sua pittura. Ho iniziato a esprimere l'importanza di una mente "positiva", di guardare bene dentro di sé e nell'ambiente circostante. I "paesaggi psicologici" sono un modo importante per descrivere il suo lavoro, in quanto incorpora elementi naturali - alberi, montagne, acqua, fuoco, terra e persone - nei suoi dipinti ed esprime le emozioni delle persone. Il "VERDE" è stato un tema importante nel suo lavoro recente e continua a rappresentare "lo sforzo e la volontà di cambiare le emozioni negative e l'ambiente in uno positivo" incorporando l'energia naturale simboleggiata dalle piante. "È l'intensità di molte vite che crea una natura pacifica". L'autrice chiama il potere di crescita delle piante "fuoco verde" e dà fuoco allo schermo. Invece di bruciare tutto, il fuoco verde diventa un'energia che alimenta nuova vita e spirito. La serie "GREEN" continuerà per qualche tempo, assumendo molte forme, tra cui il fuoco, le cascate e le onde.
