L'approccio di Skyler al suo lavoro è misterioso allo stesso modo. L'artista attinge da diverse tradizioni pittoriche e utilizza le proprie fotografie, l'acrilico, l'olio, i pastelli e la pittura digitale per creare un'esperienza estetica con umorismo, meraviglia e commenti sociali. L'artista crea spesso dipinti digitali nella tradizione del realismo magico per catturare e sostenere l'attenzione dello spettatore. Intende che ogni opera sia realizzata con cura e, si spera, risuoni a livello semantico. Muovendo i pixel sullo schermo per combinare arte digitale e pittura, c'è molto da godere e da riflettere! Per la maggior parte di questo periodo, ha lavorato a tempo pieno per una multinazionale giapponese come guida e presentatore di temi legati alla tecnologia della mobilità e ai suoi benefici per la società. Durante questo periodo, ha viaggiato in più di settanta Paesi e nel tempo libero ha conosciuto molte tradizioni e stili artistici diversi. Prima di arrivare in Giappone, l'artista ha studiato letteratura inglese, storia dell'arte e studi giapponesi. In Giappone si è formato nella pittura a olio e ha imparato da solo l'arte grafica utilizzando una decina di programmi software diversi.
