회화는 「하늘」과 「땅」의 중간에 존재하는 사이에 대해 표현하고 있습니다. ● 캔버스에 관하여 캔버스는 기독교 교회에서 발생한 그 기원에서 그려진 것을 "굳게"하는 장치이다. 그 확신 아래, 서구 유래인 캔버스에 메이지 이후, 서유럽의 룰에 생활 양식을 바꿔 갔던 신체(일본인의 자화상)를 굳게 하도록(듯이) 그려 왔습니다. ● 그려진 신체에 대해 인간이란 무엇인가, 작가의 뿌리인 일본에 대해서, 한층 더 고대부터 계속되는 줄기 문화나 타국(미국·호피나 아일랜드 등)의 역사나 관련, 공통점을 끈다 , 참조합니다. 그들을 바탕으로 "상상"(비전)을 바탕으로 작품으로 구현화하고 있습니다. 베를린의 벽터에 상자를 설치해, 한때 있었던 경계선상에 작가가 들어가는 「Trance Room Project(2001)」나, 지상과 지하를 연결하는, 마치 종교상의 “거울”과 같은 맨홀을 그려 ‘ManHole Painting(2008)’ 등 인간의 활동이나 생활 환경 속에 있는 ‘경계선’이나 ‘이계’를 테마로 작품을 제작해 왔습니다. The paintings express about the existence of human beings who exist between "heaven" and "earth". ● About Canvas The canvas, which originated in the Christian church, is a device for "crucifying" the painted object. Based on this conviction, I have been painting on the canvas, which is of Western origin, as if to crucify the body (Japanese self-portrait), which has been rewritten to Western rules and lifestyles since the Meiji era (1868-1912). ● About the painted body The artist has been exploring and referring to what human beings are, his own Korean roots, as well as the history and similarities of the ancient Jomon culture and other countries (such as Hopi and Ireland in the US). Based on these references, the artist's "imagination" (vision) is embodied in his artwork. In the "Trance Room Project (2001)," he installed a box on the ruins of the Berlin Wall and placed the artist inside the boundary line that once existed.
