Walking, which I have been doing since August for my health, has become a daily routine, and in December I continue to walk around the neighborhood of my atelier three times a day, every day. One day, I found a lovely Christmas holly at a gardening store and stopped to admire it. I knew that Christmas hollies with red berries were hard to find. I bought a pot of it, planted it in a flowerpot I had hand-painted a long time ago, and enjoyed it in my atelier. One day, I finally had a chance to paint it during a break from work, and I did it in about three hours in the afternoon. I signed it, framed it, and hung it in my studio. Last night, I enjoyed an early Christmas with red wine and a whole roasted chicken.
