This is the third work from the "Songs of Ukraine" series.
Marigolds are the favorite flowers of my own grandmother, who has been watching us from heaven for a long time. May her memory be blessed.
Song text.
Mother planted marigolds
In my dawn land,
And she taught freckled girls to sing
About the blooming hope.
Chorus:
As I look at those marigolds,
I see an old mother
I see your hands, my mother,
I hear your kindness, my dear.
I know separations and meetings,
I saw it in someone else's direction
Marigolds from the native land,
What did you sow in the spring?
Chorus
They fly to our field
Cranes from distant lands,
Both flowers and fate bloom
On my Ukrainian land.
