The painting "WATERFALLS OF ICELAND" is part of the project "On the Volcano", dedicated to the picturesque views of Iceland. The project presents landscapes with views of Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Unique natural areas of volcanic origin.
Volcanoes, geysers, waterfalls, lifeless moss-covered valleys, mountain formations, glaciers and people who have integrated into nature in an amazing way - all this and much more Iceland. There are practically no trees growing on volcanic rocks in a harsh climate with the strongest wind and rare sun. The land cover of Iceland and the nearby islands consists of mosses, lichens, grass and permafrost. Hilly open landscapes with drying rivers, lakes, geysers, waterfalls, mountains, melting glaciers in combination with cloudy skies and vast expanses of the sea form a unique landscape. The theme of the foggy Faroe Islands in combination with their unusual inhabitants is also presented on several multi-format canvases of the project.
The aim of the project is to reflect the beauty and features of the volcanic landscape of a unique, original, so distant and mysterious area.
In the search for visual keys for depicting volcanic landscapes, several basic artistic techniques were identified: fiery imprimatur, layering, lasing, expressive relief of palette knife technique.
The ends of the painting are painted and do not require mandatory framing. Before sending, the painting is covered with a protective finish varnish, a suspension is fixed on the reverse side.
