Concept

to be updated Geoffrey kuria is from Kenya. He was born in 1987 in a small village called kareru in ngong town in kajiado county, Kenya. He has two elder sisters and a twin brother of whom he is the last born. His parents encouraged him to pursue his career in the arts ever since a small boy. His twin brother became a lawyer as he is more corporate-minded and logical, whereas he dedicated to drawing and couldn’t imagine himself in an environment of conflict. He works under the name muiruri art a family name, because his family supported his career in arts, the best way to pay homage to them. He developed fine line drawing from circles of which he finds magical; He normally draws in black and white with hints of color using media, which marks a signature finish to his art works. He is an advocate for endangered wildlife and would eventually like to help different species particularly the endangered. Nairobi national park is the only national park to exist within a capital city and that gives him so much pride to be from Nairobi. Through my artwork he wants people to recognize the exclusive beauty we have been exposed through these animals such as elephants, weasels wolves and the like. It saddens him to see these animals die since we will never have the opportunity to make more because we don’t have the capability to do so. It’s devastating to imagine a world where there are no national parks.
CURRENT EXHIBITION: With support from an art shop in South Africa, who immediately recognized his talent and wanted to support his career.
ART BATTLE: he is also lucky to have a group of artist from across Nairobi who come together annually to take part in a drawing competition which he organizes and host. This gives them opportunities, ideas and trade skills to work on their craft in order to become professionals. His dream is to one day host these events across Africa. Furthermore, he would like to have exhibitions of his artworks in Lagos, New York, Paris and Tokyo.
